Shortages, Cleaning Costs, and Other Expenses
After every event, the next challenge begins: What has been returned, and what costs, if any, still need to be billed to the customer?
Party rental services often involve cleaning fees. In addition, items may be broken or returned damaged or soiled, preventing them from being reused immediately. You can easily track these costs in RentBuddy and, if desired, pass them on to the customer.
RentBuddy also offers the option to apply surcharges, which allow customers to, for example, “insure” themselves against damage or other unforeseen costs.
This way, you can decide for yourself which costs to pass on and how to handle them as part of your rental process.
Catering and venue fees
In the catering business, in addition to rentals, you also have to deal with merchandise, packaging, and deposit refunds. After the event, it must be clear exactly what was used, what is being returned, and what needs to be billed to the customer.
When accepting returns, you immediately record the returned bottles, kegs, and other containers. RentBuddy then processes this information as part of the further handling of the return, including any deposit fees that need to be charged to the customer.
